"The Sons of God had the honor to be invited by Non-Event to
do a show and we are really happy how it came out. Everything was
so warm and generously taken care of and so well organized. We could
do what we wanted to do in relation to our performance, both artistically
and technically. Without an organization like Non-Event we might
not have had the chance to play in Boston, which is why it is imperative
that you consider
donating now."

Dear Friend of Non-Event,
Thanks to all of you who have already donated so generously.
As 2009 draws to a close, this is a reminder that Non-Event still needs your help.
Over the last eight years, we have produced nearly 100 shows of
experimental, electronic, and new improvised music in the Boston
area. We have been able to do so thanks to the combination
of foundation support and the continued support of music fans like
you.
We are now faced with a funding shortfall that calls for a unique
solution. Last year, our funding partner shifted its priorities
away from live music, and so we no longer receive any outside support.
Despite losing this funding, we have strived to maintain the level
of performances you have always been accustomed to, but now we have
reached the end of our funding cushion.
To
put it candidly, we need your help. We have never before asked
any of our fans, concert-goers, or other supporters for any monetary
assistance. But this year we have decided to reach out and
ask you to consider making a small
donation to ensure that Non-Event is able to continue to present
the kind of experimental music programming which you have come to
expect from us.
Will
you please consider using the donate button found on this page to
support Non-Event? Any amount will do, but in your giving,
perhaps think of an amount that matches the value you have received
from Non-Event over the past eight years. Since 2001, working
on a volunteer basis, we have presented artists from Austria, Australia,
Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands,
New Zealand, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, the UK and the US. We
presented the first ever Boston-area concerts by major artists including
Alva Noto, Fennesz, Felix Kubin, Stephan Mathieu, Pita, the Sons
of God, and Otomo Yoshihide. In addition, we have organized shows—from
showcases to coffee houses—that feature some of the finest
musicians from Boston’s own thriving experimental music scene.
Our plans
for 2010 are as ambitious as ever, but to continue to bring you
the programming you have come to expect from us, we
need your help.
Thank you again for your support, and have a Happy New Year!
Sincerely,
Non-Event
